Choosing the right color model
For color management, the first thing you should do is choosing the right color model. CMYK and RGB are the common models. CMYK is considered to be the ideal one color palette, and RGB give exceptional results and is the primary color which has now been accepted by many industries.
The substrates plays an important role
It is very common to decorate white items as they are plain but the points vary significantly between different sublimation items available.So each substrate requires different outputs to get same color results.
Know the ICC Profiles
ICC , means the International Color Consortium, this is a group who are responsible for defining the standard guidelines for color management in the printing world. All monitors, scanners, printers and digital cameras are following the ICC profiles. Know ICC profiles well can help us know the process of creating the colors.
Using the tools
It is hard to distinguish the colors by our eyes, so we usually need the help of some professional tools. In sublimation printing, there are 2 common tools to help you accurate color output: color chart and RIP software.
Color chart is the most basic tool. All the substrates which are in use should get the color charts printed and pressed on it so as to achieve the accuracy in the color printing. Enter the RGB number into the graphics program, you will get the color you want.
RIP software is a professional color management tool. This tool usually used as an after step in graphic designing program, and it can provide a significant amount of fine tuning.
