The content of the fabric
For sublimation printing, the fabric must have the ability of resisting high temperatures. So it will not work for fabrics such as cotton, bamboo, wool etc.Then what kind of fabric should we use?
100% polyester is the best fiber choice for sublimation printing. If you want to use blends, then remember that at least 50% of it must be polyester and the remaining fibers must be able to withstand about 400˚F on the heat press.
The color
White garment is the best choice of sublimation printing, but you can print on light-colored garments, provided you don’t need the color white within the image.
If you want to print on colored apparels, one problem you should know is that the printed area may be faded is the heat-set value was considerably less than 400˚F.
The printing method
For sublimation printing, we divide it into 2 types: spot printing and all over printing.
Spot printing, for example, you want to print a logo or graphic to a specific location on the garment. For spot printing, you don’t need a large printer, and a desktop printer is enough for you

All over printing, means the images should cover the whole apparel from front to back. At this time, desktop printer is far to enough for you, what you need is a large format inkjet printer. The size of the printer depends on the apparels you are printing. The common size has 44”, 64” and 72”.
