For a same inkjet printer, equipped with different print head, the price will be different. For example, if you want the low price, the suppliers will introduce you buy the printer with Epson TX800 print head or Epson XP600 print head, the unit price is about USD$77 to USD$154. Compared with Epson 5113 or DX5, these print head is really cheap. But the problem is that these print head only can be used for 2 months, while DX5 and 5113 print head can be used at least 8 months. And the printing speed of Epsom TX800 and XP600 is much slower than than the DX5 and 5113 print head.
People may found that for the same printer with same print head, the price can be much different. How to explain? Well, let me analyze the reasons for you.
1. Equipment accessories are different. For example, the servo motor. As we all know the Japanese servo motor has a great quality, but the price is high compared with other brand. If your printer is very cheap, then your servo motor must has a poor quality.
2. Guide rail and rack are different. Some inkjet printer has one linear guide with one rack, while some inkjet printer with two linear guides with one rack. Of course the later one is more stable. And for different guide rail, the price is different. The THK,NSK from Japan, ShangYin from Taiwan, and HanJiang, NanGong from Chinese mainland all have a big difference. And it is easily to know that the chepa, the worse printing quality.
3. The Rip software. There are many different color management software in the market like Maintop, Wasatch, Eyeone, Photoprint and so on. And the price of them can range from USD$77 to USD$ 3077. Even you use the same printer, same ink, same print head ans same computer, the different Rip software can lead to different result.
4. The system boards. Though the technology of the system boards are mature enough now, but some boards can’t adjust the ink drop, and many configurations are not open to the public. So your printer is hard to upgrade in the future. So choose different system boards also influence the price.
Therefore, if we only look at the surface of the equipment, and think everything is OK as long as it can print, then you will make a big mistake.You get what you pay, this is the truth that will never change.
