Temperature is one of the main problem when using eco-solvent ink in winter. When temperature is low, the viscosity of the ink will increase, so that the fluency of the ink will get worse. Under this condition, the printing quality is poor, and the print head is easy to be damaged. Then how we use the eco-solvent ink when the weather is cold?
1. Increase the working temperature of the printer by air conditioning or heating (recommended to stay at least 15℃ ).
2. Adding a temperature control device at the secondary cartridge and the main ink tank to increase the ink temperature to 25-28℃ (recommended for large inkjet printers), this method uses a larger amount of electricity but is better and safer.
3. If the working temperature of the eco-solvent printer is lower than 15℃, it is recommended to turn on the print head heating function, or some nozzles do not have built-in heating function, and can also open the heating control panel. If the printer has one of the above two heating functions, it is recommended to set the heating temperature at 30-32℃.
4. If the ink temperature of the printer is low due to the low ambient temperature, the printer may be prone to disconnection and flying ink. It is recommended that the user of the inkjet printer try to increase the voltage of the nozzle and gradually try to obtain a voltage of +0.2V per nozzle. For better printing results, please pay attention to the upper limit of the inkjet printer head voltage, and control the nozzle driving voltage within the maximum limit. If you are not sure about the voltage safety limits of the nozzle, please read the printer manual or call the printer manufacturer to find out.
5. If your inkjet printer uses a secondary sub-ink bottle to siphon ink supply to the nozzle design, you can also try to raise the position of the secondary sub-ink bottle in the face of high temperature ink viscosity, which can also solve the ink viscosity. Of course, the specific height of the secondary ink bottle needs to be gradually tested according to the actual situation to obtain the best value.
The eco-solvent printing mainly used for outdoor printing. If you can’t use the ink well, the printing result will be bad, and even can’t stay longer on the outside. Pay attention when printing, will save you a lot of time and money in the later.
