We can see many garments made by elastic fabrics such as cycling wears, swimming wears and so on. We know that print on elastic fabric are not easy. Here are some tips for elastic fabric printing.
1.Sticky sublimation paper is the first choice
The sticky sublimation paper is designed for stretch fabric. What is sticky paper? There is a sticky coating on the surface of transfer paper. With this coating, the paper can adhere to the textiles very firmly, and it can help the paper and textiles not moving during the printing. No moving, of course no ghosting.
2.Stretch the garment before printing or heat pressing
Before heat pressing, do a little action can avoid ghosting effectively: stretch the fabric before heat pressing.By doing this, the waves of the shirt opens up allowing the ink to better penetrate the fibers of the fabric. This practice is believed to prevent cracking of the ink.
But there are something you should remember. You should not stretch shirts prior to heat pressing a polyurethane heat transfer film.Because after the shirt is washed, it will shrink back to its original shape. When this happens, the polyurethane applique will contract, resulting in the puckering of the heat transfer film. Then what should we do? Pre-press the fabric at first. This causes the shirt to shrink. In addition, if there is any moisture in the fabric, pre-pressing will dry the shirt. Moisture can potentially cause adhesion problems. Pressing the garment also provides a smooth surface for the application of the heat transfer applique.
Stretch fabric is widely used in sublimation printing. Learn these tips will help you a lot if you are in this industrial.
